THE SEYCHELLES ARE A PLAYGROUND FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS

THE SEYCHELLES ARE CONSIDERED TO BE A DREAM HOLIDAY DESTINATION. WHY?
With their unique beaches, the islands are a perfect place to relax. They’re also a playground for photographers. You can take traditional pictures, under water pictures, and pictures from the air.
And between it all, keep taking dips in the sea.

APART FROM THE SEA AND THE BEACHES – WHAT ELSE MAKES THE SEYCHELLES SPECIAL?
They’re home to a variety of animals. For example, Aldabra giant tortoises come from the Seychelles, from the Aldabra Atoll. While diving and snorkelling, you can see sharks, colourful fish and sea turtles.

DO YOU HAVE ANY INSIDER TIPS?
The Sisters’ Islands. You can find beautiful beaches on these small islands and do some wonderful snorkelling – like every where in the Seychelles. But the bonus
is that very few tourists go there and the nature is wilder than anywhere else.

YOU LIKE TO TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS USING A DRONE. THIS SURELY WON’T MAKE YOU VERY POPULAR.
I’m always discreet and ask for permission whenever and wherever necessary. I let my drone fly as far away as possible from the tourists and use the time around sun rise because no one’s on the road yet.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL STYLE?
It defines itself through vivid colours and different perspectives. With my pictures I want to encourage people to travel.
Because I’m convinced that travel brings people together.

The article features some of the best aerial shots I have taken in Seychelles, a true tropical paradise, that definitely lives up the expectations.

The only downside of my visit was the lack of coral reefs, which can be found only in few places of the islands. This is caused by the terrible hurricane that devastated Seychelles few years ago. And also by rising temperatures of the oceans, due to global warming.

I really hope that my travel photography not only inspires people in travelling more, and discover the beauty of our planet, but only to remember that we have to work together to preserve it.

Seychelles are a paradise for everyone, but especially for photographers! While you can easily snap the shot on the beach, or take a snorkeling tour for an underwater shot, the view from the sky is for the eye of pilots and their passengers. Until now!

Discover the beauty of Seychelles with this aerial reportage of the main spots, taken by travel photographer Enrico Pescantini and its drone.

La Digue Island

La Digue is the smallest and wildest of the island, and you can see of all of it from the majestic shot! The first beach you see is Anse Severe beach, one of the best to enjoy the sunset, which is the exact time of this photography.

Just behind it, the small town of La Reunion, with the port and the main hotels of the island are located.

Coco Island

Cocos island are one of the best spots on Seychelles for snorkeling, and they can easily be reached with a boat tour from La Digue, and you can spot some of them in this shot. The shallow waters around the island are perfect to spot fishes and sea turtles, without getting too crowded!

If snorkeling is not your cup of tea, in Coco Island you can also chose to reach the small beach and live a Robinson Crusoe experience in a deserted tiny island! Not much to see around the island, besides probably the best pristine waters in the world!

We live in a blue planet, and this aerial composition of Big Sister Island (or La Grande Soeur) is a beautiful example of it! This private island hosts what I personally believe as one of the best beaches of the world, with bright white sand and vivi light blue water. A truly paradise, hidden by jungles and rocks that resembles a set from the movie Jurassic World

[prisna-google-website-translator] Seychelles are a true paradise for nature and beach lover, and I have already presented you its beauty from an aerial perspective in my previous reportage.

Let’s take a closer look to the best beaches of Seychelles!

Let’s start with Anse Severe, a beautiful beach in the south of La Digue. It is a very big and large beach, and you can find your own piece of sand even in the crowdest day. Not the best for snorkeling, but amazing for some beach and water shots.

Anse Severe

You can take the famous shots of a beautiful girl on the rocks, but there could be a line for doing that

Anse Severe

Or you can take the shooting underwater with a GoPro Dome:

Anse Severe

Moving on La Digue, n the north of the island, about 15 minutes by bike and 23 by walking from the main town, there is the super famous ANSE SOURCE D’ARGENT, said to be the most photographed beach in the world.

Be here absolutely on low tide, otherwise it would be a very bad experience. Again, not good for snorkeling, but otherwise you’ll get breathtaking shots of the beach:

So where the snorkeling action is? In my opinion, the best snorkeling experience of the Seychelles is a day boat trip to Sisters Islands and Coco Island, that could be easily organized from La Digue Town.

In the main island, Big Sister, you will find what is probably one of the best beaches in the world:

All around the island, the opportunity for snorkeling is simply amazing, with the gems of Coco Island and Little Sister Island, Below some snorkeling shots I’ve taken during this trip:
